Cancellation Policies

Last updated: May 19, 2026

At Jaguar Tours, we understand that travel plans can change. That’s why we strive to handle every request for cancellation, change, or rescheduling with clarity, order, and transparency.

These Cancellation Policies apply to tourism services quoted, booked, arranged, operated, or brokered by Jaguar Tours, including vacation trips, cultural tours, religious trips, themed experiences, customized programs, group tours, private services, and services contracted with third-party providers.

By requesting a quote, making a reservation, paying a deposit, or contracting a service with Jaguar Tours, the customer agrees to these Cancellation Policies, as well as the specific terms and conditions set forth in the corresponding quote, contract, reservation confirmation, or commercial proposal.

1. General Principle

Any cancellation, change, or rescheduling will be subject to:

the date the cancellation is requested,
the type of service booked,
the travel season,
the number of passengers,
the terms and conditions of hotels, transportation providers, tour guides, venues, airlines, restaurants, or other suppliers,
administrative and operational expenses already incurred,
non-refundable payments made to third parties,
and the specific terms and conditions accepted at the time of booking confirmation.

The applicable policy may vary depending on whether the trip is an individual trip, a group trip, a private service, a customized package, a day trip, a tour, a religious trip, lodging, transportation, tickets, flights, or special services.

2. Cancellation Request

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing through Jaguar Tours’ official channels:

Email: contacto@jaguartours.com.mx
Form or channel indicated in the reservation confirmation: [link, if applicable]

The cancellation will be considered received only when Jaguar Tours confirms receipt of the request in writing.

To process a cancellation, the customer must provide:

full name of the person who made the reservation,
reservation or quote number,
travel date,
service booked,
reason for cancellation,
contact information,
and, if applicable, supporting documentation.

3. Cancellations within the first 48 hours after confirmation

If a customer requests a cancellation within the first 48 hours after the reservation is confirmed, Jaguar Tours will determine whether the cancellation can be made without a penalty.

This option is contingent on no tickets having been issued, no non-refundable services having been confirmed, no seats having been reserved, no payments having been made to vendors, no private services having been contracted, and no operating expenses having been incurred.

If any non-refundable charges or expenses have already been incurred, they will be deducted from the refund amount, if applicable.

This clause must be amended if Jaguar Tours decides to adopt a more formal “cancellation without penalty” policy. For reference, Profeco’s model contract for tourism services provides for a period of 5 business days following the signing of the contract to cancel without penalty, subject to specific conditions and before the service is provided.

4. Cancellations made more than 30 calendar days before the trip

For cancellations requested more than 30 calendar days prior to the start date of the trip or service, Jaguar Tours may issue a partial refund, reschedule the trip, or provide a credit, as appropriate.

The following may be deducted:

administrative expenses,
bank or payment platform fees,
exchange rate differences,
payments already made to suppliers,
non-refundable services,
room, transportation, or space reservations,
and any applicable penalties imposed by third parties.

In these cases, Jaguar Tours will inform the customer of the refundable amount once it has reviewed the terms and conditions of each supplier involved.

5. Cancellations between 15 and 30 calendar days before the trip

For cancellations requested between 15 and 30 calendar days before the start of the trip or service, higher cancellation fees may apply, especially if hotels, transportation, guides, tickets, activities, private services, or advance payments to suppliers have already been confirmed.

Jaguar Tours will offer, whenever possible:

rescheduling,
credit,
change of name or passenger,
itinerary adjustment,
or partial refund of recoverable amounts.

The availability of these alternatives will depend on the suppliers’ terms and conditions and the nature of the service contracted.

6. Cancellations made less than 15 calendar days before the trip

Cancellations requested less than 15 calendar days before the start of the trip or service may be subject to high penalties or may even be non-refundable.

This applies especially to services such as:

High-season accommodations,
private transportation,
specialized guides,
admission tickets,
pre-arranged religious or cultural services,
customized itineraries,
private experiences,
group services,
room blocks,
pre-arranged meals,
confirmed logistics,
and suppliers with non-refundable policies.

Jaguar Tours will review each case and notify the customer if there is any recoverable amount or viable alternative.

7. Same-day cancellations, no-shows, or abandonment of the service

In the event of cancellation on the day of the service, the customer’s failure to show up, arrival outside of scheduled hours, voluntary departure from the itinerary, or the customer’s decision not to use one or more of the contracted services, no refund will be issued.

A “no-show” will be considered to have occurred when the customer fails to arrive at the meeting point, hotel, transfer, activity, tour, or confirmed service on the specified date and time.

Failure to use a service for reasons attributable to the customer does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund, credit, or compensation.

8. Advance Payments, Deposits, and Non-Refundable Payments

Some services may require advance payments, deposits, or non-refundable payments to guarantee availability.

This may apply to:

customized trips,
private groups,
religious services,
ground transportation,
hotel blockings,
cultural experiences,
specialized guides,
tickets or permits,
activities on specific dates,
high-season services,
or services contracted with third-party providers.

When an advance payment, deposit, or payment is nonrefundable, Jaguar Tours must indicate this in the corresponding quote, confirmation, contract, or communication.

9. Date Changes

The customer may request date changes in writing.

Changes are subject to availability, current rates, supplier terms and conditions, and possible additional charges.

A change in date may result in:

rate difference,
supplier penalty,
administrative fees,
hotel change,
route change,
itinerary adjustment,
or modification of included services.

The change will be considered confirmed only when Jaguar Tours notifies the customer in writing and the customer pays any applicable difference or fee.

10. Name Changes or Passenger Substitutions

For group tours, private services, or customized programs, Jaguar Tours may consider the possibility of replacing one passenger with another person.

This substitution will be subject to:

available dates,
required documentation,
supplier terms and conditions,
type of service purchased,
advance ticket issuance,
restrictions imposed by hotels, transportation providers, airlines, or venues,
and possible administrative fees.

For name-based services, issued tickets, flights, permits, special access, or personalized experiences, name changes may not be permitted.

11. Partial Service Cancellations

If the customer wishes to cancel only part of the trip or certain services included in the itinerary, Jaguar Tours will determine whether those services are separable, refundable, or modifiable.

A partial cancellation does not necessarily result in a proportional reduction in the total price, since many tourism services are priced as packages, by group, by occupancy, based on shared logistics, or with rates contingent on a minimum number of passengers.

12. Cancellations for Group Trips

On group trips, the cancellation of one or more passengers may affect the final price for the rest of the group.

This can happen when the price was calculated based on:

minimum number of participants,
double, triple, or shared occupancy,
group transportation,
private guides,
exclusive services,
room blocks,
group meals,
group tickets or activities.

If the cancellation of one or more passengers affects the group’s costs, Jaguar Tours may adjust the fare for the remaining passengers or propose alternative arrangements.

13. Cancellations by Jaguar Tours

Jaguar Tours may cancel, modify, or reschedule a service when there are valid reasons, including:

lack of availability,
failure to make payments,
incomplete customer information,
supplier cancellations,
adverse weather conditions,
roadblocks, demonstrations, or road closures,
access restrictions,
health emergencies,
natural phenomena,
security concerns,
decisions by authorities,
force majeure,
or any situation that prevents the service from operating properly.

When a cancellation is directly attributable to Jaguar Tours and not to the customer or external suppliers, Jaguar Tours may offer rescheduling, an alternative service, or a refund, as appropriate.

When the issue is attributable to external suppliers or circumstances beyond Jaguar Tours’ reasonable control, we will arrange for any possible alternatives or refunds in accordance with the policies of those suppliers.

14. Force Majeure or Unforeseeable Circumstances

Events that are unforeseeable, unavoidable, or beyond the control of Jaguar Tours and that prevent, delay, or alter the provision of the service are considered force majeure or unforeseeable circumstances.

These may include:

hurricanes, storms, floods, earthquakes, or other natural phenomena,
closures of airports, highways, archaeological sites, religious sites, or tourist destinations,
health emergencies,
social conflicts, roadblocks, or demonstrations,
strikes,
actions by authorities,
immigration restrictions,
flight cancellations or delays,
operational failures by third parties,
or security conditions.

In such cases, Jaguar Tours will seek to assist the customer with reasonable alternatives, such as rescheduling, adjusting the itinerary, issuing a credit, or arranging for refunds from suppliers.

15. Refunds

When a refund is due, Jaguar Tours will notify the customer:

the refundable amount,
the items eligible for a refund,
the refund method,
the estimated processing time,
and any applicable conditions.

Refunds may be subject to:

supplier penalties,
bank fees,
payment platform fees,
administrative expenses,
exchange rate differences,
taxes,
services already provided,
non-refundable services,
or payments already made to ensure the trip takes place.

The refund processing time will depend on the administrative processing times of Jaguar Tours, banks, payment platforms, and the relevant vendors.

16. Credit Balances

When a full or partial refund is not possible, Jaguar Tours may, if conditions permit, offer a credit to be used at a later date.

The credit entry must indicate:

available amount,
validity period,
services for which it can be used,
restrictions,
cardholder’s name,
and terms of use.

The credit is not redeemable for cash, unless Jaguar Tours indicates otherwise in writing.

17. Services Contracted with Third Parties

Jaguar Tours may act as an intermediary, coordinator, or tour operator with respect to services provided by third parties.

Therefore, the cancellation policies of hotels, transportation providers, airlines, tour guides, local operators, restaurants, insurance companies, venues, or payment platforms may apply in addition to these policies.

Jaguar Tours will assist the customer with the necessary procedures, but cannot guarantee refunds, changes, or exceptions when these depend on third-party providers.

18. Peak Seasons, Special Dates, and Events

During peak seasons, long weekends, holidays, Holy Week, Christmas, New Year’s, religious celebrations, special events, festivals, conferences, or other periods of high demand, cancellation policies may be stricter.

In these cases, service providers may require advance payments, non-refundable deposits, or earlier payment.

The specific terms and conditions must be stated in the corresponding quote or confirmation.

19. Flights and Air Services

Unless otherwise specified, domestic or international flights are not included in Jaguar Tours’ services.

When Jaguar Tours assists with the processing, pricing, or coordination of flights, the airline’s policies, the fare purchased, the ticket class, the provider’s terms and conditions, and the applicable administrative fees will apply.

Changes, cancellations, delays, missed flights, missed connections, lost luggage, or lost immigration documents will be the responsibility of the passenger and/or the airline, as applicable.

20. Travel Insurance

Jaguar Tours recommends purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, trip interruption, medical assistance, lost luggage, delays, emergencies, and other unforeseen events.

Purchasing insurance can help reduce financial risks in the event of cancellations due to illness, personal emergencies, itinerary changes, or circumstances beyond the customer’s control.

Unless otherwise specified in the quote, travel insurance is not included.

21. Special Cases

Jaguar Tours may review special cases of cancellation due to illness, accident, death of an immediate family member, a documented emergency, or other extraordinary circumstances.

A review of a specific case does not guarantee a refund, but it may allow for the exploration of alternatives with providers, date changes, credit adjustments, or reductions in penalties when possible.

Jaguar Tours may request supporting documentation to evaluate the case.

22. Relationship with Quotes and Contracts

These Cancellation Policies are general.

If a quote, contract, booking confirmation, or commercial proposal includes specific cancellation terms, those terms will take precedence over this general policy for the contracted service.

Therefore, before confirming any trip, the customer should carefully review the quote, included services, payment terms, deadlines, supplier policies, and applicable restrictions.

23. Contact Information for Cancellations

To request a cancellation, change, or rescheduling, the customer must contact:
